What it takes to be a Detective?

  • What does it take to be a Detective?

- You have to know how to do crime scene investigations
- You have to do Stakeouts
- You have to know how to do advanced crime scene investigations
- You have to know how to Interrogate
- You must be able to follow orders
- You must be able to co-operate with ALL law enforcement personnel
- You must follow orders of SAPD Superiors even on Detective duty
- You should take priority in SAPD investigation calls
- You must follow forum rules
- You must be able to adapt to a variety of situations
- You must be prepared before going on scene for investigations
- You must follow Police laws & Procedures


Some of many important points, which MUST be fulfilled.
Once you become a Detective Cadet, you will be taught the different types of investigations, So you do not need to worry if you do not know how to do some of these, as you will be thoroughly taught.
